π Brilliant Affiliate: 6 special perks that'll boost your affiliate income π
Published 6 months agoΒ β’Β 2 min read
Hey Reader,
Want to increase your affiliate income without doubling or tripling your audience? Iβve got two words for you: special perks.
Special perks are less common promotional tools and resources your affiliate manager can give you to increase your conversions and commissions.
Inside any affiliate dashboard, you can usually find general promotional materials such as swipe copy, text links, logos, and banners.
While these are a great starting point for most affiliates, there are usually private items your affiliate manager can provide you with upon request.
These are βspecial perksβ because not every affiliate gets them and some can be customized just for you.
Besides increasing your conversions, special perks also increase trust with your audience since their exclusive or limited nature makes you look like a VIP partner or brand ambassador.
If the companies you promote tend to offer coupon codes, they can usually whip up a branded one (sometimes with a deeper discount) just for you.
2) Co-branded landing page
Here's an example of a co-branded landing page we use at ConvertKit:
3) Extended trials
If the company offers a 14-day trial to everyone, see if they'll give you a 30-day or 60-day trial for your audience.
4) Give & Get offer
Some companies can provide affiliates with a give & get offer, where both the affiliate and their referral get something when a sale is made β usually a gift card or cash.
5) Co-hosted webinar
If your audience loves attending online events, ask the affiliate company to co-host an educational workshop with you. It's a great way to position yourself as an expert to their audience while boosting affiliate referrals and commissions.
6) Custom collateral
If you need swipe copy or graphics that are more geared toward your brand, affiliate managers may be able to hook you up with custom promo materials.
TAKE ACTION:
Reach out to your top affiliate programs and ask for a special perk. Report back and let me know what cool offers you were able to score!

HEY, I'M JUSTINE!
I discovered affiliate marketing in 2009 while trying to monetize my first blog. I learned and experimented so much that I sold another blog for 5 figures thanks to its affiliate income. Those experiences led to my first tech job, and I've been launching and managing affiliate programs in the SaaS space ever since. My work has helped thousands of affiliates earn passive income and generated $30MM+ in revenue for companies like FreshBooks and Gusto.
Currently, I manage ConvertKit's affiliate program and run this Brilliant Affiliate newsletter club. Here are a few ways I can help you:

Hey Reader, I'm part of two really great business communities: The Lab by Jay Clouse and Amanda Goetz's Office Hours. I get a lot of value out of both. I enjoy learning from others, seeing what everyone is working on, getting advice on my projects, and completing the included courses and lessons. Recently, a question came up around the idea of "double dipping" as an affiliate. When you offer a free resource or run a free community, using affiliate links feels like a no-brainer for creators....
Heads up: this email contains affiliate links. If you take action (i.e. subscribe, make a purchase) after clicking a link, I may earn some tea π« money, which I promise to drink while creating more helpful content like this. Hey Reader, My friend Zoe Linda sent out a lovely series of emails this past week, sharing 5 different spring cleaning tips for business owners who have affiliate programs. I loved the theme and how she used the series to kick off her annual spring cleaning sale. I thought...
Hey Reader, I'm writing this email at the Cleveland airport, heading home to Toronto after spending a couple of days hanging with ConvertKit customers and affiliates at CEX, the Content Entrepreneur Expo. I tried to attend as many talks as I could and one of the biggest takeaways I walked away with was that it's time to really embrace AI. While I use ChatGPT on a weekly basis for various little things, I haven't fully tapped into the power of AI for my work as an affiliate marketer or...
